Lucky Peckham!

Was chuffed when I heard this place had opened up shop an easy 10 minute walk down the road from where I live. Originally a sweet spot to practice locally under the guidance of some brilliant and lovely teacher 's I now teach their myself, and must say, I love the friendly community vibe that Emma & Sean have nurtured since opening. The space itself is a modern factory/warehouse conversion flooded with natural light and maintained impeccably. Overall a joy to both teach and continue practicing here! Swing by and say Hi, everyone is super friendly and helpful and there's a great variety of classes and levels for you to choose from. xx

Great Local Studio!

Yogarise is just what South East London needed! A cool, welcoming and fun environment with a lineup of great teachers. I love practicing here and would recommend it to any of my yogi friends.

Thank goodness for Yogarise !!!

When I made the move from North London to the deepest darkest South East there wasn't a lot of Yoga to be found. Lots of teachers and lots of people wanting to practice, but to be honest not much in the way of ' A space'.... Then along came Yogarise!!!! For those of us who love Yoga it's an absolute God send !!! The teachers are great, the "space' is perfect, stylish and run by people who want to help and provide something really simple - somewhere to practice.

No one is trying to sell you a smoothie, no one is pretending to be anything they are not and in this day an age when Yoga is becoming A very useful way for some to earn big bucks, it's very reasonably priced. To create such A gem in the middle of the very interesting Bussey building was no mean feat ! Long may it continue.
I Love It

LOVE this studio.

Sean and Emma have created such a lovely hub for the Peckham community. As a teacher I've taught at, and practiced at, SO many studios where it's; get in. stick to your mat.eyes down.get out.

At Yogarise it's such a different story, all the classes are packed with friends practising together (through meeting at the studio!) -its such a lovely atmosphere. I love teaching here!- karma yogi crew who man the front desk are super sweet, and its awesome that there are community classes (pay what you can) so everyone can practice. Thanks Sean and Emma for such an amazing space x

Yogarise, a yoga haven in South East London

As soon as I found out about Yogarise being a new local place to do yoga I jumped at it and wasnt disappointed! I've been a member now for nearly a year and couldn't be happier. It's a place I look forward to going to to start my day or the perfect finish to my day. All the staff are lovely and clearly love working there and the studio is a calming place to practise but also fresh and stylish at the same time. It's the perfect space to motivate me to practise frequently! It's also given me the opportunity to try different types of yoga I hadn't experienced before so in that sense it's widened my yoga knowledge which I'm very grateful for.
Highly recommend it!

The ultimate yoga experience

Yogarise is great for so many reasons:

1. Excellent selection of teachers
2. It's all about the breathing, not hot yoga / bigram bullsh*t
3. Meditation instead of obsession over fat loss
4. No need to wear the latest piece of yoga clothing to come, you can come as you want and no one will care
5. Ridiculously friendly staff
6. Great space, really bright
7. Great membership deals

Yogarise has changed my life and I bet it can change yours too!

SE London Gem!

I was so thrilled that a yoga studio with such a diverse range of classes finally opened in SE London last year. I've been attending classes regularly since it opened and its finally helped me maintain a regular yoga practice - this was never going to be a reality for me when previously the only option was travelling into the centre of London for a class. I love the warehousey-feel to the space - big windows let in lots of sun, or when its dark candles provide a serene glow. The owners Emma and Sean are always so friendly and welcoming - certainly no pretentious attitudes here.

Long-awaited, lovingly-received studio. GET THERE!

Emma and Sean have done a stellar job at establishing such a wonderful space in the heart of much-adored Peckham. Misty the dog helps a bit now and then too whenever she graces us with her jubilant presence.

Yogarise has a jam-packed schedule for any taker, welcoming yang-heads and yin-lovers alike, heaps of variety on the timetable; the teachers are alright too I suppose ;) Em and Sean are always about and super involved in the day-to-day runnings of the place; a rarity in many a London studio.

Great community vibe and no one takes themselves too seriously....having waited years for somewhere to open up in the SE15 region this space and those who frequent it are just awesome.

Huge love for Yogarise. Get down there and visit; you won't be disappointed. x

I love Yogarise!

Yogarise is a warm and welcoming space. The studio has a lovely feeling of community and I always look forward to my classes there. The full and varied schedule means there is a style of yoga to suit your every need - whether you want to let off some steam in a Rocket class or find grounding in a Yin class. I'm so pleased this gorgeous studio has opened so close to my home, I couldn't be without it!!!

Having only tried yoga a few times in the past I was ready to palm it off as being too easy. That was until my girlfriend dragged me along to one of the Rocket classes at Yogarise, I don't think I've ever had a harder workout in my life but it had me hooked. That was last March almost a year ago and I haven't looked back, now I go at least three times a week. It's such a fantastic place, the staff and instructors are so friendly.

The bussey building is such a great space for a studio, especially in the summer when the sun is about to set. I've tried other studios in London which are pretentious and cramped and Yogarise definitely isn't one of them. If it wasn't for the great atmosphere and encouragement from these guys I probably wouldn't have come back after that first class.

We all love Yogarise

Best Yoga place in South London. Except for that teacher Whatsisname Veda. Always shouting at ppl and barking on about breath. His voice is too loud. His music is too loud. His jokes are so stuck in the 80s that most ppl doing yoga these days have no idea what he is talking about. I don't like his trousers. Or his beard. It's like a half-arsed attempt at a beard. Grow a proper one. there are plenty of better examples in yoga world. I was so in tune with my non-judgemental self until i did his class. And now I just hate the world. Great studio. When he's not in it. Om Shanti.

Yogarise is amazing!

Yogarise in the Bussey Building, is in the coolest location in Peckham. The vibe is super chilled, their style unbelievably cool with a plethora of fabulous teachers. Don't think you need to be any of these to practise there. Hugely welcoming whatever your ability or kit, it's about yoga & great yoga at that, sharing the energy, breathing together & bringing change to your practise & life. Yogarise your life.... Do it once, you won't want to go anywhere else.

Yogarised my life and never looked back

As a teacher and also someone that attends classes at Yogarise, i was deeply shocked at the comment above. I ve worked internationally as a yoga teacher at some of the biggest studios in europe. Yogarise has been The most genuinely Yogic studios i ve ever experienced. Open hearted, open minded, offering a bend-over-backwards level of support, super friendly to students at reception, very reasonably priced, creative and all embracing of the community of artists and local businesses. I'm blown away by their level of embodiment, authenticity and sincerity and cannot recommend enough to my community and friends how incredible it is to experience this in the City.

Pretentious and rude

Overpriced given they cram the classes so full you can barely move. Also if you dare to turn up slightly early to get changed for class they force you to wait outside in an unheated, dark corridor without seats or anything. They treat you like you're not 'good enough' to be there.

Yogarise response to review by Kat

Hi Kat
We are really saddened to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience at our studio and also that you felt you could not approach us in person at the studio or via email/facebook to resolve any issues you may have had.
'Pretentious and rude' are two words that we have never heard associated with Yogarise. We feel that we are very inclusive, friendly, community orientated - and try to make all our customers feel welcome.

Some of our classes are very busy, yes, but no busier than any other good yoga studio, especially in January - and this is testament to the quality of our teachers.
You have suggested that our classes are 'overpriced', but we extensively researched our pricing prior to opening and believe ours is actually very competitive - at £10-12 for a drop-in class (and even cheaper when you purchase a package/membership), compared with £15-16 elsewhere. In addition to this, we also have two community classes each week, for which there is a suggested price of £6 but absolutely no obligation to pay anything - i.e. free yoga for all. Does this sound like the kind of studio that would treat you 'like you're not 'good enough' to be there'…?
We operate a policy whereby doors are closed during savasana for the final 5 minutes of class. This means that, yes, you do sometimes have to wait outside for a short period so as not to disturb the previous class. When making this decision, we felt that this compromise would be understood by all yogis/yoginis, appreciating that no one enjoys their final relaxation being disturbed. Admittedly, the corridor is cold during winter but it is well lit. It is also not part of our Yogarise studio space, it is a communal area, so we are not permitted to furnish it.
Regardless of what is said above, we deeply regret that you have come to our studio and not enjoyed your experience. Please feel free to email us at and we will give you a complimentary class by way of apology.
