Grateful for my Dru Yoga Teacher Training

I finished my Dru Yoga Teacher Training course last year, and I have started teaching small groups and one to one classes. Dru is a very adaptable style of yoga - it can be fast-paced and vigorous for the fit and able, or gentle with modifications to suit students who have physical challenges. Students of all levels of fitness and ability can enjoy both Dru classes and the teacher training!

The teacher trainers all have many years of experience of teaching yoga, and the anatomy & physiology sessions are well-delivered by trainers who have a good background (e.g. nursing). All of the teacher training days include asanas, sequences, pranayama, meditation and relaxation - you learn yoga, not just about yoga. There are regular peer teaching practice sessions and Dru carries out an interim assessment about halfway through the course, enabling you to get insurance and start teaching as a student teacher. This is wonderful because you are supported by the teacher trainers when you start to offer classes.

Dru is not an intensive course, it takes time. It covers the spectrum of yoga in depth - it is not simply a fitness yoga style, but one which practices all the limbs of yoga. It is a journey and one which I found worth taking.
