Jen is the creatrix and director of Essential Yoga School. She became a student of yoga in 1996 when she discovered that yoga was the most effective way to release tension and bring balance, flexibility and strength to the body and mind. Jen has trained and been exposed to many different styles of yoga including, Hatha, Ashtanga, bikram, Anusara, Kundalini and Yin Yoga. Through the years she has explored different holistic healing modalities in which she specialized in becoming a Thai Massage Practictioner , CHT, Reiki Master, Breathwork Facilitator and a Reflexologist.
Jen’s classes incorporate various styles and lineages creating a flow with music focusing on breath and foundation / alignment of postures.
She believes in teaching yoga so that she can assist others of any age and level to find balance and awareness of the combined physical, mental, and spiritual gifts yoga offers. Jen’s wish is to use her presence to guide those in search of a deeper connection to the self in order to realize and expand consciousness.
Our school prides itself in being a community-based, non-dogmatic Yoga Education entity with a history of facilitating the awakening of many hearts and teaching freedom of mind and body. Each Yoga Teache training group works together to promote and inspire growth, healing and transformation for each individual participant. Our teachers consistently enjoy giving encouraging, one-on-one consultations during the course of our program to keep each person evolving toward the best they can be. Our playfulness, gentle guidance and spiritually-focused approach provide a welcome and loving atmosphere for all ages and levels of students.
Essential Yoga School 200-Hour Foundation Certification, Yoga Alliance Certified Program is geared towards aspiring teachers, as well as those who wish to deepen their practice. The program presents a well-rounded foundation in the principles of asana, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy anatomy/physiology. Graduates will also acquire the skills to structure a class that meets students’ varying needs. Essential Yoga invites you to experience a 200-hour immersion into the timeless art and healing of of yoga.
Course work will include: Yoga Philosophy, Principles of Asana Chakra Energetics , Vinyasa & Dynamic Flow, Restorative, Yin Yoga, Prenatal, Mommy and Me, Kids, Chair Yoga and Modified Asanas, History of Hatha Yoga, 8 Limbs of Yoga, Meditation, Pranayama, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Bhagavad Gita, Bandhas, Kriyas, mudras, Ashtanga Yoga, Sraddha, The Three Gunas, Ayurveda, Kundalini, Bandhas, Basic Anatomy/Physiology, Essential teaching methods including effective cuing, pose/counterpose and vinyasa principles. How to compose a class, and introduction to adjustments. Basic Sanskrit for Yoga Teachers.
