KARUNA Yoga Teacher Training Programs TM
“If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete” - Buddha
The Sanskrit word Karuna is used in Hinduism and Buddhism. It means any action taken to diminish the suffering of others and could also be translated as “compassionate action.”
The KARUNA Yoga Teacher Training Program is for everyone regardless of age (at least 18 years) or level of experience! Our compassionate, caring teachers will prepare you to teach a broad spectrum of students - because you never know who might walk into your classroom!
As a student you will learn the fundamentals of Yoga philosophy and safe asana practice through the study of these key elements:
The Sutra’s, Kriyas, Ayurveda & Mindfulness through Buddhism
The History of Yoga
The subtle body including: Koshas, Vayus, Pranayama & Chakras
The triple ‘A’s that focus on Asana, Anatomy and Alignment - (KARUNA Yoga Teacher Training is the only YTT in the country teaching Experiential Anatomy and Physiology, taught by Rie Franklin, a Level 3 Franklin Method Educator and RYT500)
The adaptation of poses for Pregnancy and Special Populations (Seniors and other groups)
The sequencing and cueing of the various styles of yoga featured in this program (Hatha, Vinyasa and Integral)
Students are taught how to adapt yoga poses to each student as opposed to forcing them into a pose(s) that could potentially put them at risk of injury; this method is what we call Compassionate Functional Movement and is the foundation for the KARUNA Yoga Teacher Training Programs (200 and 500 levels).
Our KARUNA Yoga Teaching Team is invested in the interest of its students,
Our KARUNA Yoga Teaching Team's goal is to offer instructional skills that educate you (the teacher) on how to present asana in a safe and effective way for all types of populations,
Our KARUNA Yoga Teaching Team's goal is to help you share your yoga with the world
Our KARUNA Yoga Teacher Training Program is more than just the practice of Asana - we are committed to helping our students reach their potential as compassionate, caring and expertly trained teachers.
