Mandorla Yoga is a body positive and therapeutic yoga that works with myofascial release and the Meridians to alleviate physical and emotional pain while bringing balance to the energetic systems of the body. Students are encouraged through meditation, postures and breath work to lean into and move through their emotions with the intention of reclamation and embodiment. The word Mandorla comes from our founder, Stefani's cultural studies background. Italian for 'almond', a mandorla is the almond shaped space that occurs when two perfectly shaped circles overlap. Used to represent the perfect balance of two opposites, the word Mandorla, for us, reminds us that we are both divine and human, beautiful and flawed. We rely on Ayurveda and Yoga Philosophy to enrich our programs and we believe that each Element (Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether) has a challenge for us to encounter, that as we lean into the things that we find difficult, we can uncover wholeness. It is our honour to support you either through private sessions, group classes or in our yoga teacher training programs.
