While struggling with health issues in 2003, I first discovered the benefits of yoga. My yoga practice provided me with a gentle escape from my physical body and provided me with some much-needed insight. After returning to health, completing my masters degree in occupational therapy and briefly losing touch with yoga, I rediscovered the practice in 2007 after moving to Chicago from Iowa and haven't looked back.

As I established a regular practice with some of the amazing teachers in Chicago, my curiousity piqued and I enrolled in and completed Moksha Yoga's 200-hour teacher training in 2012. During my studies I completed over 600 hours in training in the areas of asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, sequencing, and anatomy. With my background as an occupational therapist, I have been able to bring a unique perspective to class sequencing and modifications to make the yoga asana practice accessible to any and all students. Through my personal practice I have found that the true essence of yoga is found through the exploration of the mind. Through the use of asana one can dive deeper into that exploration. In my classes you can expect to explore a variety of yogic techniques to discover the essence of yoga within yourself. My classes offer a warm, welcoming environment with a lot of individual attention. I teach a blend of vinyasa (movement with breath) and static postures with a keen focus on alignment. In an effort to expand my knowledge I study and apprentice regularly with my main teacher, Gabriel Halpern. In addition, I credit my style and philosophy of teaching to my training with Kim Wilcox, Rich Logan, and Marcelyn Cole. I also am deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to study with master teachers Tias Little, Aadil Palkhivala, Gary Kraftsow
