Acharya Premananda has for more than 45 years practiced a form of meditation he learned from his teacher Rudi (Swami Rudrananda), and he has taught the practice for many years while guiding students in their transformation process.
He has written a number of articles about spiritual growth, and the books "Why Not Open Your Eyes", "Freedom from the Web of Karma" and "Poems to the Bliss of Awareness" (under the name Swami Ganeshananda). He has also produced a guided meditation cd and a dvd with talks from retreats in India.
He has a doctorate degree in education and was for five years professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA. He has also worked for many years as a consultant and trainer in industry.
Prem was a student of Swami Rudrananda (Rudi) in New York City from the late sixties until Rudi's passing in 1973. After that, he studied and practiced for many years in the USA.
He has also studied Kashmir Shaivism and other Indian traditions. For a number of years, Swamiji studied Tibetan Buddhist practices with Wangdu Lama Rimpoche, who runs a temple in Kathmandu, Nepal.
