Biography
One can’t help but be captivated and driven by Alicia’s energy, her passion and enthusiasm for yoga shining through, pushing your yoga abilities to new levels. Alicia was born in Spain and become a professional athlete at age 14. Alicia was compiting internationally all over the world and she was awared with a schoolarship from University of Miami where she studied her Bachelor of Art while she was training. She first turned to yoga to recover from serious physical injuries she acquired during her career as a professional swimmer. Through yoga she discovered how to connect with and balance her mind, body and soul.
Alicia is an experienced yoga teacher RYT 200 and 300RYT with over eight years of practice and teaching experience around North America, Europe and Asia. She is certified in Tera Mai Reiki first and second degree, combining yoga teachings with her holistic healing programs. She has a strong practice in meditation, exploring different traditions such as Zen and Vipassana meditaion, Tantra and Chakras meditationand other Vedic matras meditations. She has beenand attending many meditation retreats and trainings around Thailand and India.
She has been teaching in Thailand since 2013 in some of the best studios in the idilic island of Koh Samui, Thailand. Some of these studios include Absolute Sanctuary Koh Samui, which is Thailand´s Premier Detox and Yoga resort, which has awared by the prestige Conde Nast Travelled for being one of the best centers for yoga and detox in Asia. Vikasa Yoga Resort is another well-known studio where she is teaching yoga and meditation classes, personal yoga programs, retreats and YTT. She has been trained in Asthanga Vinyasa and Akhanda Yoga (Hatha). Alicia is part of the faculy of All Yoga Thailand with whom she is an assiting Yoga teacher for their Yoga Teacher Training hosted in Thailand. She was part of the team teachers at Asthanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in October 2014 and April 2015 with All Yoga Thailand.
Alicia has successfully completed the 300 hours RYS YTT course in Akhanda Yoga at Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh, India. While there, she was living in an Ashram having the oportunity to learning the foundation of a yogi lifestyle and the ancident yoga traditions and ceremonies. Under the Ashram system she was praciting ancident rituals described by the Vedas, performed with Vedic Mantras, Fire Puja, cleansing Kriyas, Karma Yoga and developing a sence of community and family, following a strict daily routine, vegetarian diet and deeping into the practice of meditation and yoga under her teacher.
Yoga is now allowing her to share the message of a healthy and happy way of life with the rest of the world.
