My approach to teaching Yoga is informed by over 16 years of practice and study including becoming an accredited Yoga Therapist. Often I am asked to define the style of Yoga I teach which is difficult, however in essence it includes somatic movement, asana, breath inquiry, meditation and relaxation. The classes aim to provide the tools for students to embody a stable base and support through a grounding practice, whilst through movement and breath improving flexibility and integrity through the different structures and systems of the body and mind.
In the classes we explore this embodied and relational process through movement, breath, meditation and relaxation to discover how to practice yoga postures with greater efficiency, less strain and open up to force moving through the body constructively. By understanding underlying patterns and drawing on the support from the systems of the body including the cellular, musculoskeletal, fluid, organ and endocrine we can begin to release areas where we feel stuck, therefore enable movement towards dynamic stillness of being.
