After 7 years in New Delhi where I taught several classes a week at various locations around the city, I am now teaching in Mysen and Sarpsborg, Norway. I teach Vinyasa (Slow) Flow and Yin Yoga and am realising that slowing down the flow of practice is extremely beneficial, allowing students of all ages, shapes and sizes to find their breath-body-mind connection more easily. Vinyasa means "to place in a special way", and my approach is to breathe very mindfully, while connecting each movement to the breath, as well as focusing on safe alignment in postures. No two bodies are the same and each person will experience the practice differently, based on their individual capabilities. Yin Yoga takes the practitioner on an internal journey, using long-held, passive postures and mindful breathing in order to lubricate the connective tissues and ligaments, safely stress the joints & bones and stimulate the meridians, encouraging joint & organ health, increased flexibility and well being. My intention for my students is that they master their breath to find the connection to their inner selves and find strength, peace and transformation through their asana practice.
