Amanda Cannon teaches Hatha and restorative yoga to assist mid-life to senior individuals restore, maintain and excel in daily activities and fitness. She is a fitness enthusiast who has actively practiced yoga since 2004. Amanda completed training programs in yoga both inside and outside the United States. She began teaching in the Tallahassee community in 2011 and has accumulated over 1000 hours of teaching experience, including bringing yoga and mindfulness to under-served populations such as women prisoners. Her breath-centered and slow-moving teaching style focuses on opening the heart, nurturing self awareness and self acceptance and learning how to see the world with love off the mat in everyday life. .

Amanda is a wonderful teacher and person. I've known Amanda for years through our children and she's the reason why I started yoga three years ago. I'll be forever thankful. The three categories that I left in the middle are not because she's average in those categories but because she's very balanced in those categories. I will always be a loyal student and friend!

Great Yoga for Older Students

At 67, I was desperate to reduce the stress in my life. My niece, a yoga instructor in Portland OR, suggested yoga would be helpful, and then researched Tallahassee instructors. Ultimately, she recommended I try classes with Amanda. After about 9 months of weekly yoga with Amanda, I can wholeheartedly recommend her, especially for people like me who are interested in trying yoga for the first time. Amanda is thorough in her descriptions of positions and movements, and offers more and less challenging options for many. Her weekly yoga classes have helped with my stress and my flexibility - both important at my age. Just bring a yoga mat, Amanda supplies other equipment used in each class.
