I teach in and around the Inner Loop Houston area. I also own a private studio where I teach small group classes focused on therapeutic movements and alignment. I am trained in Vinyasa, Hatha, and Yin, as well as Pralaya and am familiar with Ashtanga. My teaching style emphasizes the importance of breath connection and safe movements. I aspire to help all people realize that yoga can correct many of our current physical limitations without the emphasis that traditional Western medicine and life outlook offers. We are capable of healing ourselves through better knowledge of ourselves.

Great yoga teacher!!!

I have been taking Amanda's class a couple of times a week for several months and I love it! Although I am new to yoga, I have sampled a number of different venues and instructors and can unabashedly recommend her above the others. There are many reasons to support my opinion but I think what is most striking to me is how actively she teaches.

She is extremely dynamic in class, constantly demonstrating and explaining the poses, how they help you, and how you might modify them to accommodate your particular issues. In addition to this, she is has an approaches yoga with an infectious enthusiasm that makes class fun. To top it off, she is extremely approachable and works hard to establish rapport with each student. I am so glad to have found her!

Patient is an understatement

I ruptured my left Achilles' tendon and after surgery I was really afraid of stretching. I had tried yoga in the past and fallen asleep in one class and then really enjoyed another however that class was in Crested Butte. So here I am in Houston w a bum leg that required stretching and I'm scared. After two and half months of a minimum of two classes a week got me back to where I felt confident on my feet again. Since then I have hiked two 14ers in Colorado been able to hang w crossfiters and enjoy warm yoga.

Amanda Informs and Supports

Amanda loves to help you learn about breathing and moving your body in helpful ways. She truly instructs and listens to her student's individual needs and their concerns. Her classes always end on a very positive note and everyone leaves feeling healthier and happier! She is an inspirational and gifted teacher.
