Amy Annis teaches yoga understanding that her practice not only gave her balance in a hectic life but also spoke to her children about the connection of a healthy mind and body. After a bought with crazy cancer in 2009, she decided to take her dreams to the next level and developed her yoga and adventure retreat concept on Madeline Island, WI. During the school year you will find Amy navigating the complex world of carpooling and teaching classes at her Clean Spirit Yoga studio as well as leading karma classes to raise money for local charities via The Yoga Tree. She also found her writing voice and muses on life for Athleta’s Chi blog, MindBodyGreen, and Clean Spirit. Her primary classes teach to athletes and survivors.
Creating Madeline Island Yoga Retreats was Amy’s passion post cancer but she quickly realized that an unexpected secondary benefit was the delight she receives from seeing other women experience the health and wellness benefits of a yoga retreat. Whether it is an opportunity to develop your yoga practice or just a chance to reconnect, the retreats she leads have been described as playful, empowering, and mindful. You will leave the island not only with a sense of balance but also with a dose of lovely island zen.
