I am the founder of a Pilates and Movement studio in Amsterdam. My many years of studying movement through dancing, choreographing, teaching Pilates and Gyrotonic and practicing Yoga have great influence on how I teach and grow The Movement Practice. There are many aspects where Pilates and Yoga intertwine and inform the other. There are the neuromuscular goals related to stability, flexibility and achieving posture that is dynamically in balance. Then there is also the practice of awareness, attention and the subtlety of different approaches to the way breath affects movement, the nervous system and our daily interaction in the world. The study of Pilates and Yoga, one alongside the other, make up a lively, life-long practice!
