Studio Director and Lead Teacher, Amy L. Green (E-RYT 200, RYT 500), spent 3 years renting out space in the area before finally listening to the guidance of the universe. With the help of her loving partner Adrian and quite literally a lot of blood, sweat and tears, she has now created a beautiful space where people can come to move and breathe, tapping into their inner strength and sharing that powerful, vibrant energy with their community.
Amy was born in Australia, grew up in The States and started yoga at university because Madonna was doing it. After a 17-year love affair with yoga, her “big girl dream” of owning a studio has become a reality. She has trained and taught in the US, Australia, India, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Bali and of course, NZ. She has also facilitated transformative yoga retreats and assisted Teacher Trainings in NZ and abroad.
Amy’s classes blend stretching, strengthening and breathing exercises, pushing yogis to their edge, while giving options so that EVERY BODY can find the “sweet spot” in each pose. Incorporating her background in Pilates and Foundation Training, her focus is on enhancing the natural range of motion for sustainable, functional movement and postural health, yet still keeping the practice playful and fun. Expect to go deep within in her classes, to sit with yourself in a state of self-love and acceptance.
Amy's style is not as traditional as others; it's based on exercise science principles and functional movement patterns, yet still incorporates the essence of vinyasa yoga: mindful movements done with the breath to connect to the present moment.
