Yoga captivated Amy at savasana (corpse pose). She never felt so relaxed and rejuvenated at her first class back in 2003. She comes back to the mat to one day achieve side crow, handstand among others.
This practice allows her to be "here" and "present" and benefits her nursing school studies, as well as with the stresses of being volunteer firefighter/emt. In addition to completing a 200 - hour vinyasa teacher training, Amy has also studied with inspiring Yogaville instructors and enjoys practicing all types of yoga. She aims to convey her passion of yoga via vinyasa flows, inspiring and challenging poses, as well as invigorating backbends to elicit the body and mind. During the summers, Amy leads "Yoga by the James River" an outdoor yoga series on her family farm in Albemarle County. She believes anyone can do yoga and is constantly inspired by her teachers, and is extremely grateful for this practice and the greater yoga community in the area.
