Suffering from Epilepsy since a teenager, Amy first discovered the power of yogic techniques when she learned to control her seizures and mind through breathing. She didn’t know it then, but she was practicing the ancient art of pranayama. She practiced yoga sporadically through her undergraduate degree in architecture, but on moving to Sydney in 2011 for her Masters she took up part time work in a yoga studio. Her sporadic practice became a daily routine of yoga and meditation.
After the loss of a close family member, Amy chose not to see a counsellor as advised, but went to the Dublin Buddhist Centre to learn Mindfulness and Loving Kindness Meditation. Here, the yogic lifestyle gave her the strength she needed to smile again, be happy, be true to herself and grow into her practice.
Amy brings her special Irish sparkle to every class! Completing teacher training with Byron Yoga Centre in 2014, she uses intention, meditation, pranayama and asana to provide students with a unique, memorable experience that will challenge them physically and mentally.
