Kripalu certified with a keen interest in the philosophy of Yoga beyond the posture practice, Andre weaves metaphor with practicality to create an atmosphere where the practitioner can care for the body and spirit.

Yoga for Men

Andre taught my first yoga class and a couple hundred after that. I have a two hour block of time set aside on Monday night and I don't miss. Andre keeps the class light with the occasional joke and a fluid basic style. No head stands or wild thing here. The class is designed to appeal to a beginning/midlevel skill set. It's a good solid physical run through and I leave feeling calmer than when I arrived.
Andre's men's yoga is a critical part of my personal yoga class and I would encourage men who have little or no experience to give it a try. We don't dress up in yoga gear and we have fun.

Great teacher!

I've been a student of Andre's for approximately three years. Andre is a very dedicated teacher who really seems to care about his students. I've had several good instructors over the years but Andre is the first instructor I've had that has kept me coming back to the same class for so many years. This is due to his easy going personality and enjoyable teaching style. Highly recommended.

Andre Alyeska: Review by a Member of His Class for Seniors

Andre teaches two yoga classes for men at a gym for older adults: Fitness Over 50. (I workout three times per week at this gym.) I am in the senior men's class where we use chairs. I have been attending Andre's class from its very beginning. This was my first experience with yoga, and I wish there had been an instructor like Andre when I was younger. (I am 76.). What I like about Andre is his relaxed approach that focuses on comfortable stretching and breathing.

This has helped me with my three times per week workouts. Andre is careful that we do not over-do-it. He is conscious of which members of the class have had hip or knee surgeries, have back issues, etc. I would conclude that Andre is body focused as opposed to being spiritual throughout the session except at the very beginning when the class begins where he might read something and at the end of the class when we are on our backs and our quiet for about five minutes.
