Andrea Brook is a yoga teacher, spiritual counselor and life coach. She began as an Astanga practitioner and studied in Mysore, India with Guruji, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, in 1998. Andrea returned to India in 2000 to study Integral Yoga in Rishikesh, India with Swami Vivekananda Saraswati. She also had the great pleasure to study mindfulness meditation with Thich Nhat Hahn, and has studied many styles of yoga with amazing teachers from all over the world. Andrea has been teaching yoga since 1998 and has lead workshops and retreats around the world including the Omega Institute, the TED Conference, and festivals including Wanderlust, Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle and the Envision Festival in Costa Rica. Her classes, workshops and retreats are designed to take you on a tour of your Self, a tour to reconnect you to your own wisdom through your body’s expressions, your emotional responses and your mind’s dialogue between anxiety and true understanding. She uses the chakras as a framework to help individuals to facilitate change in their lives.
Andrea is also an international performing artist. She has toured internationally with the Earth Harp since 2001. She performs with one-of-a-kind, musical instruments that transform theaters, architecture and natural environments into large-scale musical instruments and musical landscapes. Andrea and MASS Ensemble have presented visually and sonically stunning performances around the world, including at the Temple at Burning Man, the Coliseum in Rome, the Space Needle in Seattle, the Grand Theater in Shanghai, and a 9th Century castle in Italy.
Andrea brought her two passions together to create the Yoga & Earth Harp Experience, a unique and moving yoga & music workshop, where participants practice blending yoga postures and focused intention under the strings of the extraordinary Earth Harp, the world’s largest stringed instrument. The Earth Harp places participants inside the instrument, as the golden strings span out from the stage and use the architecture or landscape to create a 50 ft – 1000 ft harp. The remarkable sonic vibration of the Earth Harp creates ascending overtones and healing harmonics that not only provide the perfect soundtrack for the yoga practice, they also transmute and sublime one's energy to promote physical/energetic health and creative inspiration. Andrea and the Yoga & Earth Harp Workshop are featured in Yoga Journal Italy, July/August 2012.
