I am a mum of 2 young boys and originally from London. I moved around a lot until eventually settling in Blackpool in 2008 with my partner. I completed my teachers training in 2013 with Yogacampus in Hebden Bridge and have been teaching yoga ever since, being a mum and a yoga teacher is now what I do. Since moving to Blackpool I have been dreaming about opening a yoga studio here. I wanted to offer a place of non-judgement, a place where you can immerse yourself in your practice and where you can strengthen, rest, restore and recover. YB is a peaceful haven, in the heart of Blackpool, where you can discover a genuine yoga practice that is right for you.
I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years now and have been fortunate to have learnt from many wonderful teachers in different styles and traditions. I teach and practice an eclectic mix of yoga, drawing from my experience in Iyengar, Hatha and Vinyasa flow. In recent years my practice has become influenced by Mark Whitwell, Heart of Yoga.
I recently attended a retreat with Mark to gain a deeper understanding of the practice and my connection to it. Marks teachings are rooted in the teachings of Sri Krishnamacharya, Desikachar and Krishnamurti. The Heart of Yoga association was formed to help communicate the principles of yoga practice to a wider audience. No one is restricted from yoga, anyone who wants to can enjoy a yoga that is right for them. The premise of this yoga is that there is a yoga appropriate for every person, regardless of age, health, body type or culture, it is important to do yoga that is right for You.
I incorporate these principals into my yoga classes, creating safe sequences that support the breath and strengthen the body. I am passionate about yoga and it's benefits, I love teaching and sharing my knowledge and experience. My yoga practice helps me to live the life I have with kindness, tolerance and love for my self and those around me. Life isn't always easy, yoga helps.
