I was introduced to yoga in 1998, and it was love at first Savasana. I was instantly amazed by the capacity for both strength and calmness I found in a body that often seemed weak and worried. In 2010 I graduated from Yoga on High's 200 Hour Hatha Teacher Training program, a course that allowed me to broaden my understanding of both the mechanics of asana and the deeper reasons behind the mystery that happens on the mat. Since that time I have had the good fortune to study with amazing teachers such as Cyndi Lee, Erich Schiffman, and Ray Long, among others, and have broadened my teaching practice to include Vinyasa, Therapeutic, Children's, and Prenatal, as well as Hatha classes. I am also currently a lead teacher in Yoga on High's 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program. In 2012, Joyce Eubanks and I created a class called Big Asana to serve the plus-size community and it has become one of the highlights of my week. I am currently enrolled in Yoga on High's 500 Hour Advanced Teacher Training program with expected completion in 2014.

My other true love in life is Tribal Bellydance, of which I have been a teacher and student for many years. In 2002, I founded Sacred Shimmy Tribal Bellydance, and I became a certified American Tribal Style® teacher by Fat Chance Belly Dance® director Carolena Nericcio in 2011.
