About Anita Ivic:
I believe everyone should live a pain-free & active lifestyle & Pilates is one of the best ways to help with injury prevention, rehabilitation & fitness. Pilates has been a huge part of my lifestyle & "living pain free" mantra.
My background is in dance. I started dancing ballet from a very young age & later received my BFA in Dance from Ryerson University before dancing professionally. I started practicing Pilates around the age of 12 after a car accident & Pilates helped me with rehabilitation. I continued to practice Pilates to compliment my dance training, and went on to complete my full training at Stott Pilates. From there, I worked at various physiotherapy clinics & Pilates studios across the GTA.
In 2008, I founded Imprint Pilates http://Member/94688 where I teach specialized training programs for men & woman of all ages and abilities, from rehabilitation clients to elite athletes. I'd say 70% of clients at Imprint Pilates come for rehab/pain relief, injury prevention & of course everyone wants to stay fit!
My love of dance & now my Pilates training have inspired me & proved to me that the body is meant to move. The body must continue to evolve & be challenged through mind-body exercise to be flexible, strong & pain-free. Pilates is just one of the many natural ways to keep moving.
Developed in the 1920s by the legendary physical trainer, Joseph H. Pilates, Pilates is a system of exercises designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, posture, while core conditioning, & also enhance mental awareness in order to support efficient movement.
Incorporating Pilates as strength training into your personal program can help you live a pain free life and complimentary to all movement forms. A few benefits & why clients come:
• Health and fitness: You will correct posture, strengthen muscle weaknesses and imbalances
• Relieve tension
• Strengthen your core
• Your body will be pain free, strong and flexible
• Pilates helps lengthen muscles
• Pilates is rehab based (pain relief & injury prevention)
Pilates / yoga compliments my everyday life, including cycling, walking, running and playing with my dog, Ellie. Pilates is a great total body workout and I love it!!!
