Annetta McCarty (RYT 500)
Formerly a ballet & modern dancer, Annetta began practicing yoga in 1999, and was immediately hooked, due to its transformative power in her life. Throughout her yoga journey she has studied & practiced: Bikram, Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Yin and Restorative yoga.
Annetta has been teaching private, corporate and public classes on the Peninsula for over two years. Her classes are fun, intuitive, thoughtfully sequenced and well balanced, with an emphasis on breathe & alignment to encourage students to develop a safe, sustainable and transformative practice. She teaches challenging Vinyasa, healing Hatha flow, nourishing Restorative & Yin yoga classes to all levels and ages. Her teaching is inspired by her own therapeutic practice, which she uses to build energy, heal injuries, restore balance and connect more deeply to herself, others, and to the divine.
Her goal as a teacher is to really see her students and to perceive and teach what they need. To Annetta yoga is much more than just the asana practice. It is a lifestyle, including all 8 limbs, which leads to greater self love, freedom, health, happiness, contentment, peace, and bliss.
In addition to being a yoga teacher, Annetta is a student, seeker, world traveler, free spirit, wife and lover of life. Prior to her yoga career, she enjoyed for many years beautifying the faces and lives of women, of all ages, as a professional makeup artist, licensed esthetician, personal stylist, and cosmetic spa/boutique manager.
