What is a path of awareness?

There are many meditation techniques. But what is meditation? It can be as simple (but not easy) as awareness being aware of itself.

This human life is precious and meditation is the wisest, most intelligent act - a tool we have - to guide us deeper into knowing the nature of mind, and the 'self’. The view of the self is transformed through awareness.

An essential aspect of my practice is to share the cultivation of disciplined awareness in daily life, and inspire others on their path of meditation through sharing what I have learned and practice:

pith, simple instruction,
techniques of breathing,
and meditation.

It is awareness and self-abidance that grants us the wisdom to temper our reactions and decrease confusion. In this coming to know the self and nature of mind, our path begins to lead us less through narrows of suffering, and more into open spaces of understanding and clarity.

I have pursued the disciplines of yoga and meditation as both student and teacher, with advanced yogis and meditation masters for more than 20 years. This path has led me to Tibet, China, Mongolia, Nepal, India, Mexico, Thailand and Indonesia seeking the heart center of all spiritual practice - self-abidance and meditation. I draw upon essential, teachings of Tibetan mind training, and meditation techniques learned from masters in Nepal and Tibet; India Vedanta teachings; and insight from direct experience within the Tibetan tradition of meditation.

knowledgeable and Authentic

Annette has such a pure, friendly and authentic way of sharing her knowledge of yoga. Its obvious that she has quite a bit of experience with both yoga and meditation, and the only way to describe her way of teaching is intelligent and sincere. You feel completely safe in her company to explore yoga in its most authentic form. You can tell that Anette has many years of experience both as a student and teacher. I find her classes to be transformative. Anette is one of those people you just want to be around!

Strong and Centered! Simple, Graceful and Effective.

Annette is one of the strongest and most centered yoga teachers I've ever had the privilege of learning from. There's a sense of calm and formidability in herSelf and her instruction, as well as a subtle playfulness in the creativity of her sequences. You really get a sense that she walks the talk! Her meditation practice is super strong as well as wicked sense of humor, also contributing to rich experience of her classes. No fluff. Simple and effective. Heart of Gold

Annette is a beautiful person and teacher. I was privileged to attend her classes in Thailand and Mexico. She was the assistant at my teacher training in Koh Phangan and I was able to take some of her classes in Tulum, Mexico. She is a great teacher and intuitively meets each student at their experience level. She is very loving and has a calming energy about her, making everyone who's around her feel comfortable. She teaches a very dynamic class, including, mindfulness, meditation, and pranayama. I love you Annette! You are the best!
