The lifelong practice as a healer and holistic health seeker has led Annie Muriel to yoga. She is grateful for the opportunity to blend the nursing knowledge and yogic principles by teaching in a gentle restorative, client centered, holistic health practice.
Her training as an instructor was with Prajna Yoga, Tias and Surya Little, in Santa Fe, NM. Annie has studied with many other teachers, in Canada and the United States and is registered with Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level. She is registered as an RN in NM.
Annie’s specialty is gentle restorative yoga for the physically challenged population. Because of her foundation in nursing, Annie has a solid understanding of physiology and anatomy. She has extensive experience working with a varied clientele and she tailors the poses for each person’s abilities. She is passionate about how humor and joy influence health holistically and that makes her teaching relaxed and uplifting. Annie emphasizes breath, balance and alignment to enhance flexibility and maintain independence for all ages and capabilities. Intuitive sensitivity and compassion combine with a safe, practical, lighthearted approach to make Annie’s yoga classes accessible and deeply healing.
“The foundations of yoga practice recognize the interwoven nature of mind, spirit and body. Compassionate yoga practice allows the body, spirit, and mind to heal on all levels.”
