I grew up on the edge of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley where its rich primordial beauty engendered in me a profound sense of life’s interconnectedness. I received my first classical guitar at age nine which began a life-long passion for music. Years later the discovery of yoga felt like reuniting with an old friend whose ideas and philosophy meshed perfectly with my own.
Having spent many years sharing the pleasures of music through teaching and performing, it felt right to become a yoga teacher to be able to share the deep joy, physical and emotional, that a yoga practice can bring. In 2014 I received my teacher certification from Birchwood Center for Yoga and Massage in Nyack, NY and I teach classes at Birchwood, Bread and Yoga in upper Manhattan, Still Mind Yoga in White Plains, Yoga for Bliss in the Riverdale section of the Bronx and privately in Riverdale where I live.
