When not standing on his hands, most of Anton’s adult life has been spent travelling the world, with the common thread linking his varied life experience being a search for the extraordinary. From founding a sustainable footwear brand, to working with the pop-band Scissor Sisters, his yoga practice kept him grounded along the way. Eventually that practice turned into a life long dedication, and since then he’s travelled the world exploring various modalities, from Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga to Vipassana Meditation. The Sacred Fig is the culmination of that journey.

Anton is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance, E-RYT) of 500 hours. He seamlessly blends meditation, pranayama, & asana together with a sense of lightness, laughter, and ease. Anton’s classes are fluid, dynamic, and physically demanding.

He’s a featured contributor to GaiamTV & MyYoga, and has been profiled in various publications, including GQ, GQ Japan, Mantra Magazine, YogaCityNYC and Angeleno Magazine. Anton lives & teaches in NYC.

Treat yourself to this wonderful teacher

I've been doing yoga for 2 1/2 years. When I look to take a class I look for an instructor that is unique. Whether it's breathing techniques ,translating yoga sanskrit or a slight adjustment; if it's something that make you think differently about a pose I've done hundreds of times, that’s Anton. Anton, has this warmth to him that in turn you want to reciprocate, which is great for a new student as all insecurities of what you can and can’t do are gone. What I like about Anton the most is that he can sense those particular moments when students are in a difficult pose, and to lighten the tension he’ll say something funny, that will take you back and realize; its yoga its suppose to be fun.

In a city so richly full of wonderful yoga instructors, Anton is among the best! I first met Anton at Om Factory where he teaches regularly but have also had the pleasure of taking classes with him at Kula. He is kindhearted and warm and soft-spoken but also rigorous and very precise. His classes often focuses on breathing and holding postures. Delightfully, he is also humorous - often in a very endearing and self-effacing way. My favorite part about class with Anton though is the absolute calm and serenity that he evokes going into savasana after a really tough flow. Absolutely take a class with him when you can and you will certainly go back for more!

Radiating Energy

I first took a class with Anton at Om Factory in Midtown. And within minutes of the introduction you can sense his passion and energy/love for his practice and what he is about to teach.
His explanations are thorough, and is good at calling out adjustments to specific people, which also helps make the entire class check their positioning as well. When needed, he made adjustments; either helping correct form, or engaging to push us further and advance our practice.

But something that I find just as important to a well rounded practice is the motivation and guidance of understanding why we practice. To focus on form, but to also be in the moment and clearing our minds of what's waiting us after the practice. Trying to clear our mind of clutter of our everyday, and be present. His guidance and words, led an amazing practice that left me not just physically cleansed but mentally as well, and ready to continue my day.
