Ashley found yoga in 2009 as a former dancer. She enjoyed the physical practice similar to dance, but discovered something deeper. Transitioning to Washington, DC in 2013, Ashley found The Studio DC as her safe haven when entering the busy city. She made friends and found a community that supported her in a positive way. Ashley fell in love with the practice and knew she wanted to share it with others, so she completed the 200 hour teacher training at The Studio DC.
Studying with master teachers Bryan Kest and Govind Das, Ashley has learned to honor the body and cultivate consciousness through tools like breath work helping her gain self-awareness. To Ashley, yoga is a source of joy that spreads throughout all aspects of her life from physical health, to personal relationships, and her working career. Ashley strives to continue learning and challenging herself through physical asanas in addition looking inward to share the practice with others.
