As a psychotherapist, former tutor and nanny, Ashley teaches yoga with knowledge of the external and internal human experience. Her classes are inspired by the connection of mind and body: using one as a pathway to access the other. She discovered yoga in order to find tranquility while living in the City that Never Sleeps and cultivate a deeper connection between her mind and body. As a practicing psychotherapist, she enrolled in a teacher-training program so that she could provide her patients with yogic tools to manage trauma, anxiety and depression. She completed her 200-hour vinyasa teacher-training at Go Yoga in Brooklyn in 2014.
The classes and private lessons she teaches are rooted in the fundamentals of focusing on the breath, bandhas, drishti and alignment in addition to locating and releasing trauma and tension stored in the body. Ashley enjoys an energized practice with fun playlists that cross a variety of genres. She encourages experimenting with poses and finding the balance between effort and ease and making the practice unique to each individual.
