Ava Alberti is a NYC based yoga instructor trained in the style of Vinyasa yoga. She teaches yoga posture, breathing techniques and meditation. She enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds and creates classes for specific needs. Melding breath and movement and seeing how it can change things internally for people is the most inspiring part of teaching and practicing for her. She is fascinated by subtle energy in the body, and incorporates this into her classes.

Ava completed her 200-hour teaching certification at Sonic Yoga in Manhattan, under the direction of Lauren Hannah, Johanna Aldrich and Jeffrey Duval. She is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and is insured.

Caring, patient & warm approach

Practicing with Ava is a really nurturing experience. She has a voice & touch that puts students at ease, and understands pacing really well. She'll challenge you, but she won't push you beyond the limits of safety. She's also got a great presence, and is extremely organized (I've worked with her in both teaching and yoga-related administrative situations). Her students are lucky to have her!

I love taking Ava's classes! Her enthusiasm, sense of humor, and assistance help me get through my practice. She also does a great job of offering modifications for people at all levels, while pushing you to safely challenge yourself. Highly recommended!

Ava has such a warm, relaxed energy. She pays individual attention to each student, and is especially sensitive to any injuries and issues. Her teaching is about progress and she encourages each student to push themselves only to the point they are comfortable. Fantastic.

A fantastic teacher

Ava is incredibly friendly and really knows her stuff. I'm a beginner so I was initially nervous, but she teaches to all levels. She's very good at inspiring you to push yourself, but keeps you well informed about what should hurt and what shouldn't. She also comes around and fixes your form and asks if you have any questions. The classes are both a workout and incredibly relaxing. They're also fun! Overall, Ava is a great teacher and I highly recommend her.

Attentive and engaging

I've been to several of Ava's classes. At each, she provided excellent guidance. She was attentive, with gentle suggestions to improve technique, and was very mindful of individual experience levels.
