The InnerSanctuary was created in 2000 as a way for Barbara to allow her inner light to shine and to light the path for others on their way to spiritual growth and personal transformation. Barbara began her journey into healing arts after becoming a Reiki Master Teacher in 1998.

In 2000 Barbara became a registered yoga teacher. She has studied yogic philosophy and various forms of Hatha yoga including Kripalu, Vinyasa and Kundalini Yoga. She also obtained certification in Applied Meditation through the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI).

The highlight of Barbara's healing path and her journey to higher awareness came when she met her Teacher, His Eminence Shyalpa Rinpoche in 2000. Over the years she has studied and researched Tibetan Buddhism - Vajrayana Path and was given the name 'Pema Dechen' meaning 'The Great Blissful Lotus'.

Her most recent undertaking is to delve deeper into the mind through the study of Kundalini Yoga and is certified as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and a Spiritual Advisor. She was given the name "Siri Kirin Kaur" meaning "The Great Ray of Light".
