I have been practicing yoga since 1997. I earned my 200-hour RYT certification from Boundless Yoga in 2003, and my 500-hour RYT certification from Tranquil Space in 2013.
Yoga is the foundation of my spiritual life. I benefit greatly from the relaxation, inner calm, and quiet yoga fosters. I appreciate the ways in which yoga blends strength and flexibility in a holistic discipline that honors the powerful integration of mind, body, breath, and spirit. I value the ethical and spiritual teachings of the ancient yogic texts and seek to apply their wisdom in my life, on and off the mat.
I enjoy exploring various styles of yoga. While my practice is most closely aligned with the Hatha Yoga tradition, I do incorporate aspects of numerous other approaches into my practice and my teaching, including Iyengar, Jivamukti, Anusara, Vinyasa, Yin, and Kundalini yoga traditions, for example. I have taken workshops and classes from a wide variety of excellent teachers over the years, including Eric Schiffman, Gormley, Paul Grilley, Doug Keller, Kristin Leal, Megan Davis, and many others.
I practice and teach in the Washington, DC, area where I am delighted to say there is a thriving yoga community. I am keenly interested in restorative yoga and therapeutic yoga and intend to deepen my training in this regard in the near future. I am open to expanding my network in DC and beyond, so feel free to reach out. And find me soon at Namaste.
