My name is Becky Stevens and I recently graduated from the Anjali Yoga Teacher Training program. This 200 hour certification was taught in the Kripalu style of yoga, and my personal yoga experience also includes 10 years of personal practice and Iyengar style classes.
I am very interested in offering restorative and yin yoga classes with a strong focus on proper alignment and the use of props to provide a safe and nurturing environment. I also am interested in teaching people that are curious about yoga, and would like to try it, even if they have concerns about their ability. I believe that there is an appropriate yoga class for everyone, and the key is finding the right one!
As a person in my 50's, I believe that yoga makes sense for everyone; it helps develop strength, balance, and flexibility - all things that we need to continue to work on as we age. It is also a remarkable way to decrease stress and therefore cortisol levels, another risk factor that impacts many of us.
