I am a yoga teacher, a professor of sociology at Simmons College in Boston, a poet, and the author of "Survivors on the Yoga Mat: Stories for Those Healing from Trauma." I am passionate about story-telling, trauma survivors, anti-racism, feminism, and yoga as a tool of healing and transformation.
For the last fifteen years, I have been practicing Bikram, Vinyasa, Iyengar, and Baptiste yoga, and recently completed my second training in Shakti Yoga Dance. I have deepened my practice through study at the Krupalu Center for Yoga and Health and the Yoga Barn in Bali. I have also taught yoga and writing classes/workshops at the International Women's Partnership for Peace and Justice in Chaing Mai. I currently teach at the Dorchester YMCA at 7pm on Monday and 7am on Tuesday.
