Beth Spinder ERYT500 and one of the first C-IAYT(International Association of Yoga Therapist certified)has practiced yoga since childhood and taught for nearly 40 years. She was education director/founder of Teach to Inspire Yoga Education RYS and in Springfield, MO and is has worked as holistic liaison and medical yoga therapist in both private and public classes at a major medical facility where she lectured interdepartmentally on stress management and yoga therapy. She has worked with all ages and levels in classes, at the University level, in rehabilitation facilities, homeless shelters, prenatal care, juvenile detention, advanced studies programs, churches and public schools. Her early studies were with Sri Eknath Easwaran in the 1980’s to his passing and with Pandit Rajmani Tigunait and the brilliant staff of the Himalayan Institute since 2005. Her asana training was with many wise Iyengar senior teachers including George Purvis,Jon Shumacher,and Judith Lasater and later with Rod Stryker, Shiva Rea, and teachers in the Yin also trained in Phoenix Rising yoga therapy. Beth studied psychology and communication at Missouri State University. Tantra is her path and she continues to practice and learn Ayurveda, herbology, Reiki and Tandava. Beth has enjoyed the pleasure of seeing teachers develop and minds and bodies heal through the gifts of her teachers. She sees the future of yoga in therapy and lectures and offers workshops in “How Yoga Heals.” She currently lives and works at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pennsylvania and is a frequent contributor to Yoga International Publications.
