I teach Hatha yoga with an emphasis on breathing, flexibility, endurance and patience in mind. I have been practicing since mid 2010 after a knee injury from running and significant weight loss. Doctors and physical therapy came to an end after realizing; it requires much patience, money, time and questionable, experienced individuals. A health professional and life coach suggested I trying yoga. These suggestions took me to my first class. During my first few classes, I found it extremely challenging, but it kept me coming back. While attending yoga in a gym environment, I continued to explore various yoga studios in the local area and while traveling. Every instructor has inspired me to explore new experiences and opportunities.
Yoga calls me to my mat every day. There is no yoga perfect, only yoga practice. Matching every movement to the breath allows the practice to bring purpose to everyday life. Flexibility, both mind and body, is a continual journey with no destination making it all the more purposeful. Continue the journey!
In April 2013 I received my RYT200 certificate to follow with becoming a member of Yoga Alliance after receiving training through Shambhava Yoga locally. My goal is to share his experiences on the mat to allow those to begin as well as continue their journey. I have currently taught close to 1,000 hours from late June 2013 through July 2016 in the evenings and weekends.
