Practicing yoga since 1970 as a young student of Swami Vishnu Devananda.
Over time I explored many different methods of practising yoga asana and meditation while pursuing a dance career. I received my first teaching certificate from Yoga Centre Toronto in 1987.
During that time I was introduced to Iyengar's method and continued study with many prominent Iyengar teachers in Canada and India.
I became a Diploma Graduate of Shiatsu School of Canada in 1989, which included anatomy, pathology, physiology and eastern medical sciences.
I applied Shiatsu therapy skills with Iyengar method yoga in order to help heal clients with many different disorders.
This was my introduction to Yoga as Therapy.
I have taught in Toronto, Vancouver, London and Germany in various private studios and health centres including my own Fuji Oriental Healing Arts centre.
For the past 17 years I had been instructing group and private classes at Granite Club in Classical Hatha format with emphasis on proper alignment taking each individual's personal needs into consideration.
I also have a successful private practice at St. Clair and Yonge for individuals who prefer personal instruction or require specific attention for more challenging problems, such as joint replacements, severe arthritis, , sciatica, herniated discs, CTS, MS, migraine. I also have experience in Pre and postnatal yoga, yoga for the elderly as well as for athletes.
I emphasize the importance of developing a balanced personal practice including, asana, pranayama, relaxation and concentration.
I also offer yoga workshops with a particular focus or for the workplace.
I believe everyone can practice yoga, if there is a will there is a way.
