Brianna began her study of yoga in 1998, and became certified to teach in 2003 through the Eldorado Mountain Yoga Ashram in Eldorado, CO. She completed a second teacher training in vinyasa yoga through the Laughing Lotus in San Francisco, CA in 2008 where she studied with Dana Flynn and Jasmine Tarkeshi. Brianna is also a multidisciplinary movement artist, choreographer, performer, teacher, and investigator, and integrates her movement background into her yoga teaching. She completed her MFA in Choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2013, where she was also a teaching assistant. Her choreography has been showcased in the San Francisco Bay area, Greensboro, NC, Boulder, CO, Portland, OR, and Washington, DC. She directs Confluence Performance Project and is a member of the experimental performance ensemble COLLAPSS in Greensboro. Brianna has taught dance and yoga to people of all ages since 2003, and teaches as an adjunct professor at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Charlotte, Elon University and Salem College instructing courses in Yoga, Contemporary and African Dance and Choreography. Brianna’s intention as a teacher is to hold space for her students to find openness and joy in their bodies, through movement, breath, alignment, sound, and inspired readings, and she encourages an environment of listening and nurturing, playfulness and love. Brianna is grateful to all of her teachers, in all of their colorful forms, who continue to inspire her daily.
