Bridget and her mom, YogaMama Catherine, are the owners of localYOGA, formerly located for over 7 years in the heart of downtown Murray, UT. The studio suffered a complete loss due to extensive flooding and building hazards following due to broken main water lines in an old building. Classes resumed a week later and with the help and support of Great Harvest Bread, we have not only relocated but also completely renovated our new space into a truly serene, art filled yoga and wellness center at 6357 S Redwood Rd suite F in Taylorsville.

Bridget began to study the art, science and patterns of the human body/mind/spirit through extensive traditional martial arts training, transitioning into a dedicated yoga practice after struggling with postpartum depression after the birth of her 2nd daughter. She is a homebody and usually in the garden, reading, or visiting with neighbors when not out exploring the world. Life for this single mom is spent learning, eating, living with 4 girls ages 13-21, with extras always around, is constantly learning, loves her community fiercely and considers yoga to be what led her down this path.

While she has studied extensively with local and national teachers, you'll still find her dressed in random funny leggings or else baggy Thai pants and a tank top with a pile of dreadlocks half hazardous piled on her head, believes that everyone needs at least one friend, and is the first to welcome anyone looking lost, needing a smile or who finds their way into her life or studio.

With over I'm certified in Breathe into Recovery- a training designed to meet the needs of those overcoming addiction, and Breathe into Bliss- a 200 hr RYT training to provide emotional healing through yoga, as well as I've completed over 375 additional hours of Yoga Therapy training.

She loves ( specializes) in pranayama, traditional Hatha, Meditation, Flow, and Yin. A true anatomy geek, it is through this avenue as well as studying advanced yoga therapy modules that she helps each person discover their most therapeutic practice, while hopefully bringing a smile to your face. Students can "come as they are" and find an unpretentious and creative atmosphere in her classes. She almost always has her singing bowls, a good story, a lot of love, a new book and the grace to be real.

Love from Texas

Bridget invited me to my first yoga class just after my father passed away. Her words and the poses just made sense, I completely embraced that moment. Yogi for life now. Thank you to my first and very best lesson in yoga. Namaste my friend.

Authentic and Brave

In a world where image seems to mean more than substance, it is refreshing to know someone as genuine as Bridget. Life is messy and no one is perfect and it is wonderful to have Bridget walking this path with us providing support and friendship as we all make our way. She bravely leads with her heart and strives to bring goodness into this world.
