I first came to my mat in high school when I started attending my mom's yoga classes. Growing up playing hockey I found it was a great way to give my body the stretch it needed. It wasn't until 2011 when I was asked by a friend to attend a yoga sculpt class, this is when I really fell in love with yoga. Coming to my mat for a high intensity workout, mixed with yoga was the perfect balance for me. My love for yoga sculpt led me to join the CorePower Yoga & Spa Yoga Sculpt Teacher Training in 2012. During training I was introduced to many of the vinyasa style classes which led me to take the 200 hour Power Yoga Teacher Training in order to deepen my yoga practice and learn how to share the benefits and love of yoga with others. After a year of teaching I took the Hot Yoga Teacher Training program at CorePower Yoga & Spa. This training allowed me to deepen my knowledge of the hot practice as well as truly find my own voice as a teacher within the other formats. I have learned how important it is to bring a positive and safe environment to my students as well as to my own practice. I believe that in today’s persistent world we need time for ourselves to check back in, to appreciate every breath, and to clear our minds.
