Candy has been teaching yoga for over 13 years. She received her RYT training at Sun Moon Yoga Studios in Mankato and her E-RYT certification from Yoga Alliance. She began teaching yoga at Sun Moon Studios in Mankato, and taught there for 8 years. In the Mankato area, she continued to teach yoga classes, workshops in teacher training settings as well as breathing and restorative yoga workshops. She also taught at Heartworks Yoga Studio in Northfield for three years. An exciting new part of Candy’s journey has also enabled her to bring yoga to the workplace. For the past three years, she has been teaching a noon-hour class to the corporate offices of Great Clips and United Health Services in Bloomington. Training with Judith Lasater (Restorative Yoga), Shiva Rea (Asana Flow), Elise Miller (Breath Work) and Sean Corn (Vinyasa Flow) have helped her discover her passion, which is helping students discover the importance of breath as it leads the body into the flow of the asanas. Candy has her Masters Degree in School Counseling. She is currently teaching in the Education Department of Normandale Community College in Bloomington. In all teaching settings, Candy values the educational journey and the individuality of her students, her goal being student success and personal transformation.
Candy is also a partner and Director of Teacher Training at Green Lotus Yoga and Healing Center of Lakeville.
“Yoga to me symbolizes a journey. I truly have found my journey to be never ending, filled with new understandings and constant in its renewal and my transformation. My journey began in 1994 with my first yoga teacher, who became my mentor and still is to this day.”
