I am passionate about supporting people through their yoga practice and helping to offer a connection towards a more open mind, body and heart in order to live a mindful, healthy and enjoyable life. Originally from Chicago, I have lived in cities across the world and currently call Austin, Texas my home. My passion for world travel and seeking new experiences strongly impacts both my life and the continuous journey of the practice.
I have been practicing yoga for over 9 years and originally was drawn to the practice as an athlete looking to find other ways to challenge my body. After experiencing the fantastic feeling of physical changes in flexibility and strength, I also began to notice the dramatic ability to feel a mind-body connection. From there it was only a matter of time where I eagerly began to read, study, and practice with dedication to follow this path. Typically, I am drawn to classes as a practitioner and teacher with lots of movement and flow, but that are balanced with awareness and stillness within the postures.
I completed my RYT200 Yoga Alliance teacher training with Gioconda Parker at Gioconda Yoga in Austin, Texas and completed my 300 hour advanced teacher training with Christina Sell and Gioconda Parker at the San Marcos School of Yoga. I have had the opportunity to practice and study with amazing teachers around the globe who have influenced my own practice including Janet Stone, Shiva Rea, Sarah Ivanhoe and Lygia Lima among others. My own experiences around the world have truly opened my heart and mind to the beauty of this earth and the ways yoga can help us connect with people of all ages, sizes, languages and cultures.
