I'm Carla and I've been practicing Yoga for the past 15 years, and teaching for the past 5 years. My areas of expertise include: Kids & Teen Yoga, Mother & Toddler Yoga and Yoga for correct body alignment or injury improvement
I have been teaching children & teenagers since 2011 in London, and since 2013 in Dubai. Trained originally in Hatha Yoga and Yoga Therapy, as well as in Pilates and Mindfulness. Besides my yoga career, I have also had a lengthy teaching career both in Primary & Secondary Schools in UK & UAE, which gives me an extensive background when it comes to working with children!
My education and teaching background in London has been a platform where I have learnt and discovered from students of different cultures, religions, beliefs and backgrounds. Using a combination of techniques acquired through Drama & Yoga, I target specific skills in my students to improve their all round performance; using speech drama techniques to gain fluency and maximize memorization was commonly seen in my class. Teaching Yoga before and after school has allowed me to observe the positive changes students undergo from breathing exercises to flowing movement which has directly impacted on their academic performance.
I have also worked with many adults, teaching Hatha Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Pilates and Mindfulness. I have taught a variety of lessons in different parts of the world, dedicating myself to helping people gain a strong mind as well as a strong body. I believe that one cannot be attained without the other and I reflect that in my teaching.
