I discovered the healing arts about 25 years ago. I had a viral infection which left me constantly exhausted and my body ached all over. Today this is known as Fibromyalgia. My GP did not have any answers so I started to explore complementary therapies. I was particularly drawn to Yoga and Tai Chi because of their gentle flowing and graceful movements which helped ease my aches and pains. I also looked into all kinds of therapies, and eventually trained in the Japanese art of Shiatsu, Reflexology and several massage modalities, Indian head massage, hot stones massage, and hydrotherm massage.
After several years of training I started to teach Tai Chi, a Chinese healing system and also undertook a three year training course to become a Yoga teacher, looking at how Indian healers look at health and wellbeing.
As well as having a passion for body work, I am also a mental health professional and work with adults with severe mental health difficulties. I am also a humanistic counsellor.
Practicing Yoga and finding peace within is our greatest weapon in todays fast and stressful life. Please try to join me for some gentle movement, relaxation and contemplation in a peaceful, safe and supportive environment.
