Your back hurts. Really your whole body hurts. You're stressed out. You know that exercise and a good night's sleep would help, but you're just too tired. So, you crack open some wine and plop down to watch a movie or bing on Netflix.
Does this sound familiar?
It does to me. I've been there more than once, friend!
Carrie headshotI’m Carrie, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT). My passion is working one-on-one with people to use yoga to help them improve the quality of their lives.
How do I know that yoga can help you? Because I have used it to help manage chronic back pain, get rid of headaches, and generally reduce stress in my life. I worked in public accounting for over 10 years as a tax accountant, so I deeply understand the impact chronic stress has on your body.
And now I am the proud mother of a two year old son. Oh boy! I thought tax season was hard on my body and left me exhausted at the end of the day. Wow! There are some days that I think I would prefer the silence of the tax returns to the toddler tantrums playing out in my kitchen.
So, what can you expect from a class with me? I take yoga very seriously, but I also like to have fun with it. I regularly mix humour into my classes because I believe that laughter is the best medicine, yoga being a close second. I am definitely not perfect. I regularly get my left and right mixed up, and there are some poses that I cannot do very well. But I am fully committed, as a teacher and a student, to being the best that I can be. As they say in yoga, practice and all is possible. As a teacher I will hold space for you and assist you in any way I can to take your practice to the next level. Your practice is yours and yours alone – I am purely there as a guide, encouraging you along your journey at your own pace, doing what feels right for you.
I would be honoured to accompany you in part of your yoga journey.
