My second chance at life came at 31 years old when a blood clot in my coronary artery resulted in a myocardial infarction. As a healthy triathlete in the prime of my life, I was the last person anyone would suspect of having heart disease. The truth is that heart disease is the number one killer of Americans, claiming more lives each year than all types of cancer combined.
I have over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership. I chose to pursue a second career in health and wellness to help people find their path to better health, and am committed to reducing the impact of heart disease. I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. I am certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
I received my certification as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) from Corepower Yoga in Boulder, Colorado, where I was trained in vinyasa style yoga. I have advanced training in yin (restorative) yoga, and anatomy from the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica.
