Cat's decade of practice and 5 years of teaching has been infused with a variety of traditions, from Ashtanga and Iyengar, to yin yoga and mindfulness practices. An E-RYT with Yoga Alliance, her teaching blends respect for yoga tradition with a scientific understanding of anatomy and biomechanics to keep students safe, and educate them on how to make the practice work for their body. Her dharma is to help ground people into their body and create space to let the inner teachings of yoga unfold from there. Yoga is a gateway to discovering the eternal Self and Cat honors that, but also encourages smiles and having fun! Cat's approach weaves together a focus on foundations, mindfulness, playfulness and highlights the ways this physical practice translates off the mat.
In her classes, practitioners journey through a carefully crafted sequence designed to create warmth, space, and balance in the body, mind, and heart. On social media, she shares her practice journey and her popular #overachieversguidetoyoga posts are devoted to breaking down foundational poses in a clear way so anyone can approach them in their practice. She is a natural teacher grateful for the opportunity to lead others on this journey and eager to share what she's learned.
When she is not teaching yoga or preparing to teach yoga, Cat is parenting her adorable 3-year-old son with her husband Michael in San Diego, and works for the virtually distributed, personal development-minded company, Bulletproof.
