Yoga has been a part of Catarina’s life for about 4 years after moving to London to follow the dream of working in the film industry as visual effects artist. The sedentary lifestyle demanded by the nature of the business started aggravating the chronic back pain and tension caused by long hours working on the computer. Practicing yoga sooner made her realize the healing benefits on the body and mind.
Inspired by the philosophies and life system ideals of Buddhism and Yoga, Catarina finds herself in the journey of self-discovery and sees herself as an eternal student.
She is passionate about sharing the many benefits of living a yogic lifestyle and believes that yoga is for everyone, regardless of age or ability and it’s about being present, connecting body and mind through breath, letting go, accept what it is and enjoy the process of getting stronger.
Based in the Ashtanga Vinyasa, her classes are dynamic, with continuous movement and the routines are structured in a way that allows modifications to push yourself a little further in a safe place.
Her aim is to bring a smile on each student’s face, a nice feeling of well-being and is inspired by seeing people achieve things they may have never thought possible.
She qualified as a yoga teacher in December 2015, after completing a 200 hours Ashtanga Vinyasa and Rocket Yoga Teacher Training. She also completed 100 hours of Yin and Acupressure Teacher Training in Goa with The Yoga People in March 2016.
