Yoga first came into my life during the late 1980s. I ignored it but it came back into my life 13 years later when I was asking myself “what life was all about?” I have since followed the path of Yoga and I am grateful to all my teachers who have shared their teachings with me.
I have had many influences and my practice has evolved over time and keeps on evolving. I love the meditative spiritual approach to Yoga; working mindfully, listening to my body and its messages. Inspired by Vanda Scaravelli’s approach, using gravity, the breath and the spine to release tension, integrating somatics based on the work of Thomas Hanna was a natural progression. This has helped release old patterns of holding and tension. My classes are slow, gentle and mindful and are suitable for all ages, including people with health conditions such as fatigue, ME, arthritis or with non-specific back pain.
