I've always been into fitness, and since high school I've always wanted to be a group exercise instructor. If there's a workout out there — I've probably tried it. I remember coming home from school and popping in a VHS tape of the latest workout. I bet I can still dig out those old Tamilee Webb and Denise Austin videos. It wasn't until my late 20s, after working in the health club industry, I decided to finally pursue my dream to become certified to teach group fitness classes. It took a couple of hurdles, a little dedication and a loooot of patience to get there but today I am lucky enough to share the joy of living a healthy lifestyle with others! It's been life changing for me and I have met some amazing people teaching classes at Lake of the Ozarks.
Working out doesn't have to suck and I am blessed to be able to teach others how to incorporate fitness into their lives! But it does take a commitment! My students inspire me every time I step onto the mat to be a better teacher, and I am constantly learning so that I can bring better tools to them so we can all make progress. My personal journey is one of spiritual, physical and emotional growth and I am a better person because of it. You will find me not only teaching, but taking various yoga and group fitness classes across the Lake area.
I always say the world needs more yogis!! My goal is to make sure everyone feels welcome and wanted in my class. I have an approachable philosophy to yoga. Everyone has a different journey and is at different stages, so my advice is ... don't ever feel intimidated to start that journey for yourself! I am so lucky to have students who care about one another and respect everyone who comes through the door.
I continue to branch out in my education to include other types of certifications as often as possible.
Feel free to contact me anytime! Be happy, be well. Namaste!
